Optical interference blocking filter
An blocking filter is an optical element that
in a defined spectral region blocks the
light completely while transmitting it
in a closely adjacent region with high
transparency. If the transmission region
lies in the longer-wave region compared
with the rejection region, the filters are
called long-wave pass or cut-on filters.
In the inverse case, the filters are shortwave pass or cut-off filters.
